Like others have mentioned, if you measure carefully and be on top of your scale length so it intonates right, it is a very cool guitar. . . just make sure you start with a very light guitar because the Bigsby adds a good bit of weight on the rear that can make it a bit unstable on the strap!! The way i read your post/question you gave the impression that you read somewhere that Epiphone "added" extra laminate to the top for mounting a Bigsby,I've never read that. What that post on the Gibson forum indicates to me is the guy found was a standard production method used to make the Casino.
